Your profile: Requirement for these positions is a Master’s degree in CES, engineering, applied mathematics, physics, or a similar subject with a superior academic record.
Practical programming experience in Fortran, C, or C++ as well as with parallelization (MPI or OpenMP) are of advantage. Familiarity with UNIX operating system would be ideal. Students are expected to contribute to general tasks at the institute, such as teaching and advising master or project theses. Language skills in German are preferred but not required.

Offer: The candidate will be employed as a regular employee and must meet required personal qualifications. This is a full-time position with salary according to German civil service pay scale TV-L E 13 (roughly 4000 euros/month before taxes). The expected appointment period is up to five years, with an initial appointment for one year.

La scadenza per la presentazione delle domande è il 30 giugno 2020. Le borse partiranno presumibilmente il primo novembre 2020. Lo stipendio è definito dalla UE (approssimativamente 3100€ mensili, più un contributo per mobilità di circa 600 € mensili e 500 € in caso di nucleo familiare). Non c’è necessità di una domanda separata per i fondi. La domanda può essere fatta tramite il link presente nel sito.

THREAD is a unique network of universities, research organisations and industry which by addressing fundamental modelling problems will ultimately enable the field to better meet the needs of different industries. A group of 14 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) will receive comprehensive training covering state-of-the-art research topics along the modeling of highly flexible slender structures for industrial applications (see below) as well as valuable transferable skills. They will benefit from close cooperation with twelve industrial partner organisations implementing a comprehensive programme of research secondments and contributing their experience.

Ph.D. candidates should ideally start on 1 April 2020 for 36 months. The salaries are defined by MSCA early-stage regulations.
