Dear Colleague,

Please notice that the deadline for abstracts submission has been extended to MARCH, 25, 2023.

Following the success of the previous editions of the International Conference on Computational Contact Mechanics, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the next edition (ICCCM 2023), that will take place on July 5-7, 2023, in Torino, Italy.

ICCCM2023 is the seventh edition of a series that began in 2009.Previous meetings were held in Lecce (2009, 2013, 2017) and Hannover (2011, 2015, 2019). Also, ICCCM is one of the Thematic Conferences of the European Community of Computational Methods in Applied Sciences – ECCOMAS (www.eccomas.org).

All these meetings have been very successful and, together with the next one, they are becoming an established and internationally acknowledged event in the field. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 meeting had to be postponed to 2023.

The aim of the conference is to provide an international forum for researchers, practitioners and for all the scientists who are concerned with modern computational techniques and applications in the field of contact mechanics. The participants will have the opportunity to discuss recent advances and identify future research directions in the field. Sessions related to specific topics will be introduced by a keynote lecture.

The Conference will take place at the headquarters of the Politecnico di Torino, in the beautiful city of Torino.

Prospective speakers are invited to submit contributions, in the form of two-page abstracts, on any of the Conference topics. Directions for submission and registration, as well as further information on the event, can all be found on the Conference webpag: icccm2023.polito.it

Important dates
Online registration start: September 1, 2022
Submission deadline for the two-pages abstract: March 25, 2023
Acceptance of contributions notification: March 31, 2023
Early registration fee deadline: April 30, 2023
Payment deadline for abstract acceptance and scheduling: May 31, 2023

We look forward to receiving your contributions and welcoming you to ICCCM2023 in Torino.

Best regards,

The Organizers of ICCCM 2023

Description and objectives: Soft robots find application in numerous sectors, e.g., automotive, aerospace, wearable, pharmaceutical, medical, and renewable energy, where failure and fracture issues represent a major concern. The aim of this research project is to develop theoretical and computational models, corroborated by experimental measurements, for the calibration of failure and fracture properties of soft polymers. Specifically, the successful candidate will work new constitutive theories for thermo-responsive shape memory polymers, enhanced with descriptions of failure and fracture and self-healing features, and on their numerical implementation within a finite element environment. The interested candidate will have the possibility to run specific experiments on 3D printed samples to validate numerical results. This research is in collaboration with Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. A research visit to this institution can be planned during the research contract.

Save the Date: 27-30 August and Join us at the Engineering Mechanics Institute International Conference 2023 (EMI IC 2023)—the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) international annual mechanics conference. This conference will be hosted at University of Palermo, Italy, with organization led by Professors Massimo Midiri and Antonina Pirrotta

The conference will provide a forum for researchers and practitioners, where the fundamental and applied advances in engineering mechanics will be on display. At the conference, learn about the latest discoveries in the field of engineering mechanics, disseminate your own contributions at topical sessions,  listen to distinguished plenary lecturers and participate in discussions, panels and networking events to advance engineering mechanics education, research and practice.

But more, support all PHD students attending the special junior sessions where the chairs will be young researcher and speakers Ph D Students, only.

It could be very important, to let you know that with one registration fee you may present two papers!
