Short Course on Particle-Based Methods in Engineering and Applied Science
The Short Course on Particle-Based Methods in Engineering and Applied Science will be held in Hamburg, Germany, on 2-3 October, 2021. Given the current circumstances, it will be possible to attend the course either in-presence or online.
The course aims at giving an overview of the theory and applications of the most used particle methods. With Particle Methods we refer to those numerical methodologies using the concept of particles either to carry the information of the deforming continuum, such as the Material Point Method (MPM), Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), and the Particle Finite Element Method (PFEM), or to represent computationally real physical particles, like in the Discrete Element Method (DEM).
