NODYCON 2026 will take place from September 20–23, 2026 at Sapienza University of Rome, Faculty of Engineering, and will be held both in person and online. Following the successful editions in Rome (2019, 2021, 2023) and the 2025 edition at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, the conference returns to the vibrant center of Rome, just steps from the Colosseum.

NODYCON continues the legacy of the Nonlinear Vibrations, Stability, and Dynamics of Structures Conference series, initiated by Prof. Ali H. Nayfeh at Virginia Tech in 1986. The conference will bring together researchers from academia and industry to discuss the latest advances and emerging trends in nonlinear dynamics.

The program will feature:

6 keynote lectures by leading experts in nonlinear dynamics,

-          Prof. Sergio Pellegrino, Joyce and Kent Kresa Department of Aerospace, California Institute of Technology, “Explicit Dynamic Simulations of Folding and Deployment of Complex Thin-Shell Composite Structures”;

-          Prof. R. I. Sujith, Department of Aerospace Engineering & Centre of Excellence for Studying Critical Transitions in Complex Systems, IIT Madras, “Continuous and Explosive Transitions in Thermoacoustic System”;

oral technical sessions presenting recent high-impact research and applications;

an awards ceremony including the Ali H. Nayfeh Best Paper Awards, Ali H. Nayfeh Senior Award, NODYS Early Career Award, and Best Nonlinear Dynamics Paper Awards.

Full-length papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in the Springer Nature journal Nonlinear Dynamics, subject to a rigorous peer-review process.

To maximize global participation, a virtual component will run in parallel with the in-person event, enabling researchers worldwide to attend and contribute.
