The course is organized under the auspices of the International Center for Mechanical Sciences (CISM) in Udine, Italy, during the week of June 30 to July 4, 2025.
The course (flyer attached) is organized in collaboration with Profs. J.-F. Ganghoffer (Univ. Lorraine), J. Dirrenberger (ENSAM Paris), T. Siegmund (Purdue Univ.), L. Placidi (Univ. Uninettuno) and H. Reda (Lebanese Univ.) and will cover topics related to various types of metamaterials, including periodic and stochastic fibrous structures, granular and topologically interlocked materials. Phenomena and methods to be discussed include: non-linear response, strength and toughness, stability, optimal design, homogenization, dynamic behavior, fatigue, constitutive modeling including higher order models, vibrations.
