Sapienza University of Rome is hosting the APESS 2019 in Italy from 15th July to 3rd August 2019 (see attached flyer).
Similar to previous Asian-Pacific-Euro Summer Schools, APESS 2019 will be an intensive three‐week programme of coursework where students will attend the lectures given by leading world experts in Civil Engineering and Smart Structures Technology, which are listed in the attached flyer.
APESS 2019 will allow students to participate in a technical visit to L’Aquila, largely destroyed by the 2009 earthquake and several laboratory projects where they will learn about fundamental and practical uses of sensing principles and technologies for infrastructure monitoring. To reinforce knowledge gained during the sessions, they will also be challenged in a capstone competition.
The APESS 2019 program will also include non-academic activities to bring students, lecturers and staff together.
The Summer School will be held at the historical Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.
The result of 3000 years of ad hoc urban development, Rome’s cityscape is an exhilarating spectacle. Ancient icons such as the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Pantheon recall the city’s golden age as caput mundi (capital of the world), while its monumental basilicas testify to its historical role as seat of the Catholic Church.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION is 1st March 2019.
